The 40 years conflict besides other devastating consequences has considerably spoiled the education system of Afghanistan. With 9 million children in schools by now, the continuous armed conflict, make the education a distant dream for many Afghan children. OCHR mission is to advocate and strive for the Afghan children right to education, those live in remote, hard to reach and conflict zones.
Objective: Ensure continuity of education during emergencies.
OCHR establishes temporary learning spaces where schools are damaged or overcrowded. This prevents disruption of education and supports children’s right to learning.
OCHR rehabilitates classrooms, boundary walls, and installs WASH facilities in schools. Improved infrastructure enhances safety, attendance, and protection—particularly for girls.
Objective: Support access to quality learning resources.
OCHR provides school kits, teaching materials, and classroom furniture to vulnerable students. This reduces barriers to school participation for children from low-income households.
Objective: Strengthen community-based protection in schools.
OCHR works with School Management Shuras and communities to promote safeguarding and inclusive education practices. This ensures safer, child-friendly learning environments.
