Provision of emergency in-kind food packages to 4000 shock affected IPC 3 and 4 households specifically 2400 in Kamdesh and 1600 in Barg-e-Matal districts of Nuristan province.

The specific food response was funded by UN-OCHA (AHF) in eastern Nuristan province and it was transparently and successfully implemented by OCHR FSAC team.

After this food intervention based on eye witnessed results thousands of children, elderly men, women and people with disabilities were rescued from cold wave impact in the severe cold weather.

Noor Ahmad one of the beneficiaries from Awla Gul village in Barg-e-Matal district stated: “Our community is poor and facing sever food insecurity, this kind of assistance is a crucial need of our people, hopefully this food assistance will save our children and elderly men and women from hunger and malnutrition”.
